More and more specialist schools are being forced to close through lack of funding. As our deaf children are encouraged to embark on mainstream education it is now even more pertinent to keep this centre going and continue to educate in deaf studies and the specialisms that are required to enable this new idea to happen within those constraints. This centre is one of the key landmarks in the UK for deaf studies. What ashame to cut-out something so crucial to the deaf the community, and for hearing people like me, who are so eager to learn and a build a career within this area.... This has to be prevented.
